E-Bride was initially due to begin filming in Los Angeles and the Ukraine around August and September 2007. Unfortunately, due to problems with paperwork, the movie has been postponed until late 2008. The movie was originally titled Confidential Connections, but was re-named E-Bride in July 2007.

Vika Films, LLC has signed Jonathan Lipnicki to star in the comedy-romance Confidential Connections. The feature centers around the budding relationship between a brutally honest Ukrainian bank teller and a thoroughly dishonest Asian-American slacker who’s seeking a wife to please his grandmother. Lipnicki will play the bank teller’s devilish teenage brother Yura who tries to derail the relationship. Lipnicki’s previous credits include Jerry Maguire, Stuart Little and When Zachary Beaver Came to Town.

Confidential Connections, co-written by Takashi Bufford (Set it Off, Booty Call) and Goro Hamasaki, is based on a true story of an e-mail romance that backfires due to translation snafu.

Principal photography commences this August to shoot in the Ukraine and Los Angeles. Former Columbia executive Devorah Cutler-Rubenstein is directing, with Cutler-Rubenstein, Mission Management’s Goro Hamasaki and Viktoriia Hamasaki producing.
