We've seen Jonathan Lipnicki in Jerry Maguire and The Jeff Foxworthy Show. And this fall he co-stars on
Meego, a cross between The Nanny and Mork & Mindy, when in he plays the charge of alien Bronson Pinchot.
But who is Jonathan Lipnicki really, besides the cutest kid ever to say the F word?
So far he's limited his roles to five- and six-year-olds, but come October he'll turn seven and have access to emotional
truths only a first-grader could mine. Jill Donnellan, his acting teacher and personal manager, says, "I could tell right away he
was different, like there was a star over his head." She wasn't the only one, she says. "Jonathan goes right up to Tom Cruise and
says "Great balls of fire. Put it there." Tom sighed with relief and said, "This is an actor!"
"Jerry Maguire was like starting at the top," says Lipnicki's mother, Rhonda. And once you're at the top, you're dealing
with strength. "We negotiated in our contract for Meego," she adds, "that when T-ball season starts, we have to be off for
practice."
Finally, an interview was arranged. Lipnicki shows up in a white tux, a glass of water in hand, the TV tuned to Cartoon Network,
and that ever-present attitude he's forged, something between adorable and cuter than knee socks. His personal trainer, Amir, a
professional no-rules fighter, hovers nearby, along with his entourage of mother, sister and personal manager.
| Q: | So, you have the TV show, but what's the most fun thing in the world? |
| A: | Fighting with Amir [Exchanges looks with the 6' 2" 225-pounder.] I like science stuff. And baseball. |
| Q: | Is baseball your favorite sport? |
| A: | And basketball. And fighting with Amir. I love jujitsu. |
| Q: | Jajeetso? |
| A: | No. Joo-sheet-suu. Whatever. |
| Q: | As if. |
| A: | Can we stop this valley girl talk? |
| Q: | You don't like Clueless? |
| A: | [I like it] only because Bronson (Pinchot) was in [the show]. |
| Q: | That reminds me, Meego is pretty cool. How did they do that part with you flying through the air with Bronson? |
| A: | I'm not telling. |
| Q: | You can tell me. |
| A: | Bronson just picked me up. I can't tell you any more. [To the recorder] Is that taping? I have to go to the bathroom. |
He never came back. Instead, he found an X-Wing Fighter in his bag of toys and amused himself.
"Jonathan is as regular a six-year-old as can be," says his mother. "People come up to him all the time and say,
'How does it feel to be a movie star?' Jonathan says, 'I'm an actor.' and then he says he wants to direct."
