Jonathan Lipnicki, eleven, the little
blonde kid in glasses in Jerry Maguire, has signed for
When Zachary Beaver Came To Town.
Winner of nods for his scene-stealing perf with
Tom Cruise, he copped a Young Star Award for his work as George in
Stuart Little, a role he reprises in the sequel.
Jonathan, whose family came to California from
Canada in the '60s, played Murph in Like Mike (2002) with rapper Bow Wow.
Amy Robinson and Jay Julian will produce. Susan
Kirr, half of the team that created the delightful pure-Austin documentary Bike Like You Mean Iy,
is production manager/line producer.
The director is John Schultz (Like Mike).
Toni Cobb Brock will handle Texas and extras casting. The film, based on a
children's book, shoots in the Austin area September 30 through November 4.
