The film, When Zachary Beaver Came To Town was filmed in Granger because it is a "very nice town," Amy Robinson producer of the movie, said.

The movie is based on the book, When Zachary Beaver Came To Town. The main characters are Zachary Beaver, Cal and Toby, who are played by actors, Sasha Neulinger, Cody Linley and Jonathan Lipnicki. Robinson has also produced such movies as From Hell, Autumn In New York and For The Love Of The Game. Portions of the movie were also filmed in Austin, Lake Travis and Coupland.

"Yes, because in the movie it's supposed to be a hot summer week," Robinson said when asked if the rain caused problems for the filming.

Cody Linley, who plays the character, Cal, has appeared on such movies as My Dog Skip, Miss Congeniality, and Where The Heart Is.

"Cal is mischievous, kind of dorky, curious, and not used to excitement," Linley said. "Granger is a cool little town."

Jonathan Lipnicki has been in the movie, Jerry Maguire and has starred in Stuart Little. Lipnicki is playing the character, Toby.

"Whatever I want to do I can do," Lipnicki said. "Thank you for the sweat suits and Go Lions!"

Sasha Neulinger is playing the main character, Zachary Beaver.

"Zachary is a great character," Neulinger said. "Everybody treats him as an object, not a person."

Neulinger has appeared on such movies as Shallow Hal and Unbreakable.

"I wouldn't be here without my parents," Neulinger said.

Some Granger High School students were extras in the film.

"It was a fun experience for me," Shurron Burtchell said.

"I had a great time and hope to some day make it a career," Jennifer Holder said.
